The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. ~ 1 Samuel 16:7
She prayed to see beyond the looking glass, for years she prayed that which she saw was not what appeared at first glance. As the months progressed and the years went by she was given a pathway, one that she always seemed to miss. A sea of green suddenly appeared as though it was all that ever existed. It shined and sparkled like never before. Then one night, one unexpected and heartbreaking night the sea flooded and the beauty that was hidden underneath seemed to overflow like never before. The flood was so rampant and so quick that it could fill any sea to overflowing. All that she had been praying for started to emerge.
She once heard a quote, one that quickly became a motto deep in her heart. "And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight inside the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." So despite all that she heard before, the memories that still seemed so close that she could touch them she decided it was time to risk it all and begin to blossom, to step out of her once comfortable cocoon.
So she begins, a journey including many twists, turns, narrow and wide pathways, but never to return to the old again. For now, now she has finally begun to understand what it means to see beyond the looking glass.
